Group accommodation FAQs
Can we book the whole hostel for our group?
Yes. Whole-hostel exclusive hire is available at Base Camp Hathersage, giving your group the run of the dorms, private rooms and communal spaces. Tell us your numbers and dates and we will confirm availability and a tailored quote.
How many people can you sleep?
We have a mix of dorms and private rooms that suit groups of many sizes, from a single club minibus to a full residential. Send us your group size in the enquiry form and we will confirm exactly what we can offer for your dates.
Is it self-catering, or can you arrange food?
Both. There is a properly equipped self-catering kitchen with a long shared table, and we can also arrange breakfast, packed lunches and hot meals for groups. Let us know what suits your trip.
What is there for outdoor groups nearby?
Stanage Edge, the gritstone escarpment that shaped British climbing, is about an hour on foot, with walking, scrambling and cycling straight from the door across the Peak District. We have a heated drying room and a lockable bike store for kit.
Do you host school and DofE groups?
Yes. We regularly host school residentials, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions and university societies, with affordable beds, easy access to outdoor learning and flexible terms for organisers.
How do we get a quote and book?
Fill in the group enquiry form with your numbers, dates and rough plans. We pick it up the same day and build a single tailored quote covering rooms, meals and any extras, with clear deposit terms.
How do we get to Base Camp Hathersage?
Hathersage station is on the Hope Valley line between Manchester and Sheffield, about ten minutes on foot from the door, so groups can travel car-free. On-street and public car parking is available in the village for those driving.
Is this the former YHA Hathersage?
Base Camp Hathersage is the independently run hostel in the village that many walkers and climbers knew as YHA Hathersage. The same handy base for the Peak District and Stanage Edge, now run by Base Camp.
